Lab meetings are generally held once a week or once every two weeks at a consistent day and time throughout the semester. Before each new semester, the Lab Manager sends out a Doodle poll/When2Meet to find the best lab meeting time for the next semester. Grad students are expected to attend all lab meetings, except when sick or on vacation. Project/Honours students will also attend all lab meetings. Volunteers do not generally attend lab meetings, but we do host a few volunteer-oriented events each year, like CV Smackdown and Getting Into Grad School. We have a outlining the meeting topics and who is attending.
Krista likes to meet with students regularly to check in on project progress, help solve problems, provide supervision, and move projects forward. If you are new to the lab, it's a good idea to meet with her weekly to start. Meetings are set up through her . If there are no available slots or you can't find a time that suits you, please email Krista directly to find a time.

The lab is generally open and its members working except for . Students are expected to work even when classes are not in session (for example, during the summer), except for scheduled time off. While we don't mandate standard '9–5' hours, Grad Students are generally expected to work full time and be reasonably available during the day on weekdays. Research Assistants will have contracts stipulating working hours per week, generally 10–25. The Lab Manager is full time. Undergraduate Project/Honours students work 10 or more hours per week, depending on the stage of the project. Volunteers generally work 5–10 hours per week. You are encouraged to be on campus or in the lab frequently, as this contributes to a convivial lab culture :)
We try to maximize testing availability, so there may be times when researchers will be scheduled to test families on weekends or holidays. If you test outside of usual work hours you are encouraged to make up the time during the week. We do not expect any lab member to work every day of the week and encourage a healthy work–life balance!
In general, lab data is expected to be stored only on our secure, Concordia-hosted lab server. The server can be accessed from home using the Concordia VPN.
