Recruitment and scheduling
Types of recruitment:
- Online recruitment (e.g. Facebook/Instagram Ads) - most commonly used 
- External recruitment (e.g. Community outreach, lab presentations) - list of potential contacts can be found here 
- Birthlists (no longer using) 
General Recruitment Workflow
*steps are outlined in greater detail in sub-sections
- Search database for potential participants & determine if/when a Facebook ad will need to be created. 
- Create Facebook ad (if needed). 
- Check Qualtrics for new sign-ups + add them to database. Note down sign-ups that are eligible for the specific study. 
- Create contact list. 
- Contact families using study specific script. Maximum of two contact attempts (leave a voicemail on second attempt). Check voicemails regularly to see if families call back. 
- Add notes in database for every contacted individual. 
- Add successful recruits to study specific recruitment log. Take note of date of contact. If they do not book after 2 weeks of contact, send them a booking reminder by email (which must also be noted down in the database). 
- Send all necessary online questionnaires by email (either for an online study, or questionnaires that need to be completed before in-person visit to the lab)
