Taxes (newcomers to Canada)

You need to file taxes. Deadline is April 30th - if you hand them in late, you may be charged a % of taxes owed (though unless you make a lot of money, it’s more likely that you’d get a tax refund).

People either pay someone to do their taxes (some lab members might have a contact if you want! Around $60, and if you’re low-income you should get back ~600/year), go to a free tax clinic, or do their own taxes using turbotax.
