Downloading LEQ data from Qualtrics
To export LEQ data from Qualtrics, follow these instructions.
Make sure you have permission to access the Qualtrics admin back end.
Log into Qualtrics with your Concordia information
Click on the “MAPLE LEQ” questionnaire on the left-hand side of the page
Click on the “Data & Analysis” tab along the top middle
You may get a message about records being re-indexed for speedier viewing. Leave the page be for several minutes, then come back and refresh. You should see the data records have loaded. If not, leave the page for longer before refreshing.
To export records for a specific study only, use a filter by clicking on “Add a filter” near the top left-hand side. If the filter for the study you want exists, click on it from the drop down. If not, click “Create a new filter”. Make the name of the filter the name of the study (e.g., “Tri-Vocab”). Keep the drop-down for “All of the following are true” as it is. Click the drop-down for “Select choice” and pick “study_name”. Click the downward arrow beside this option (NOT the three dots) and choose “Is”. A text box will appear, and here you should type the name of the study exactly as it is entered into the LEQ when administering the questionnaire.
Once you have applied the filter, the list of questionnaire records should only include those records you are interested in. Now click on “Export and Import” near the top middle right, and choose “Export data…”.
For working in R, it’s best to export a CSV file and choose “use choice text”. With these settings, you can run Hilary’s LEQ export cleaning script to get the data into a more useable format for working with in R.
Click Download.
All done!
