Where are we? (Location)
Montreal is a great place to study bilingualism, because both French and English have similar prominence, and official status nationally!
The lab is located on the Loyola campus of Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. How to get here?
Lab address 7141 Sherbrooke St West PY Building, PY-033.08 Montreal, Quebec H4B 1R6
How to get to campus
Public Transit (STM)
Take the orange line metro and get off at Vendôme station, then take the 105 bus west and get off at the Université Concordia / Campus Loyola stop.
Take the orange line or blue line metro and get off at Snowdon station, then take the 51 bus west and get off at the West Broadway / Sherbrooke stop.
Cycling
De Maisonneuve has a separated bike lane along nearly its whole length, so if you are coming from downtown you can take De Maisonneuve westbound until you hit West Broadway, then turn right until you get to Sherbrooke. Campus is right there.
You can also cycle along the north side of Mont Royal, which is beautiful (especially in autumn!), along chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine. This route does have a very long uphill and downhill in both directions, however!
Montreal has a city bike rental program called Bixi, with a rack right at Loyola. They offer standard and e-bikes. A membership is $18 per month, or you can rent single rides for $1 plus 15¢ per minute. Find out more here.
Concordia Shuttle Bus
Concordia has a free shuttle bus for staff and students that goes directly between the downtown campus and the Loyola campus many times a day. You can see the schedule here, and where the next bus is in real time here. To use this service, you must have your Concordia photo ID card to show the driver. The downtown bus stop is on De Maisonneuve outside of the Guy-Concordia metro station, and the Loyola stop is on Sherbrooke in front of the pathway that leads to Vanier Library.
