CREW-RA Contracts

CREW-RA contracts are used to hire research personnel that are currently enrolled at Concordia University. Usually, lab RAs are hired on this contract (both undergraduate and graduate). There is a designated CREW pay rate based on the education level of the employee (i.e., undergraduate, masters or doctoral level). All CREW contracts are to be submitted on FRIS: . The base pay rate is typically subject to change (increase) in May of any given year. Because of this, typically the blank contract will have a date that a contract cannot exceed (i.e., a contract created in September cannot extend past May of the following year, due to the pay rate increase). Keep this in mind when hiring new research personnel (and make sure you submit the form from the appropriate year).
A notice of hire must be submitted upon hiring of a new employee. It is recommended to submit this form at least 2 weeks before the start date, so that payroll can get them on the earliest pay period possible, to avoid delays in compensation. Note that all contracts are subject to a 2-week delay, so the first paycheque may only arrive a month after the employee start date.
