Quebec’s taxes are higher than every other province--both income tax and sales tax. If you move to Quebec near the end of a calendar year, you will likely owe (and possibly owe a lot) depending on your income/tuition situation in your prior province of residence. It’s a good idea to save for tax season, just in case. This issue might be more of a problem for paid employees, rather than students, but it’s a good thing to watch out for!
